Who we are

Farmville House Wash is a one-person exterior cleaning business in Farmville, Virginia, owned and run by Aiden Connelly. “We”, “I” and “me” on this page mean Farmville House Wash. Questions about your information: email aiden@farmvillehousewash.com or call 830-444-5800.

What I collect

Only what’s needed to quote, schedule, do and get paid for the job:

Contact details you give me: name, email address, phone number and the property address.
Job details: the services you pick, home size, notes and special instructions, and any photos you attach to a quote request (photos are emailed to me; they aren’t published).
Booking and payment records: dates, prices, invoices, and what was paid, refunded and how (card, cash, Zelle or check). Card numbers are typed into the secure payment window of my card processor, Helcim, and never reach or are stored on this website. Cards aren’t saved for later — you enter your card each time you pay.
When you book, a record that you agreed to the Service Agreement: which version, the date and time, your device’s IP address and browser type.
Your electronic signature when you sign an invoice (a drawn signature or your typed name), with the date and time, your device’s IP address and browser type, and a fingerprint of the invoice you signed — kept as the record that you agreed to it.
Tips you choose to add when paying (kept separate from the invoice).
If a customer uses “refer a friend” to email you, your email address is used only to send that one message — it isn’t added to any list. Referral links record who referred whom, so the right person gets the thank-you credit.
Your choices in your account, like permission to show before/after photos (never with your name or address) or a yearly reminder email.
Reviews you choose to leave, shown publicly as your first name and last initial, plus your town only if you choose.
Emails I send you from the business, so I have a record of them.
Chats with the website’s chat assistant (see “The chat assistant” below).

Cookies and site statistics

The website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and there’s no Google Analytics or social-media tracking.

A cookie is only set when you log in to your customer account (or when I log in to the admin page), to keep you logged in. It isn’t used for anything else.

When you visit, the website records your IP address, the pages you view, what you tap on the public pages (for example which services you look at, or whether you open the booking calendar), the kind of device and browser, and which website or listing sent you (for example “google.com”, or a link on my Yelp or Facebook page that says where it came from). I use this only to understand how people use the site and to spot spam or abuse — for example, to see where people get stuck when booking, and roughly which towns visitors come from. No cookies are used for this, and it is never sold, shared or used for advertising. Only I can see it.

How your information is used

To give you a quote, book and confirm your appointment, and do the work.
To send you job emails: confirmations, a reminder the day before, changes to your appointment, invoices and payment reminders, a login link to your account, a request for a review after a job is paid, and replies to your questions.
To take payments and issue refunds.
To keep business and tax records.

I don’t sell or rent your information, and I don’t send marketing email lists.

Companies that help run the site

A few service providers handle parts of the work, only for that purpose:

Helcim — card payments and refunds.
Resend — sends the website’s emails.
Anthropic (Claude) — the AI that answers in the website’s chat assistant.
DigitalOcean — hosts the website server and its database.
Cloudflare — the website’s domain name service.

Information may also be shared if the law requires it.

The chat assistant

The chat bubble on the website is an AI assistant (Claude, made by Anthropic). It answers questions and can fill in the booking form for you; it can’t book, agree to anything or take payment for you — you always finish booking yourself.

What you type or say in the chat is sent to Anthropic to get an answer. Anthropic doesn’t use it to train its AI. If you use the microphone, your phone or browser turns your speech into text (for example Apple or Google, as with any dictation); no audio is recorded or kept by this website — only the text of the chat.

Chats are saved, with your IP address and browser type, so I can follow up, see what people ask about and improve the answers. They’re linked to your customer record if you give your name, phone or email or book. Please don’t type card numbers or passwords into the chat.

“Ask your AI” buttons

The Ask ChatGPT, Ask Claude and Ask Grok buttons open that company’s website with a question about this business already typed in. Nothing about you is sent by this website; whatever you type there is covered by that company’s own privacy policy.

Before-and-after photos

Photos of your property are only used on the website with your permission, and never with your name or exact address.

How long information is kept

Job, invoice and payment records are kept as business records for as long as needed for taxes and accounting. You can ask me to delete your information; I’ll remove what I’m not required to keep. Backups are kept private.

Your choices

You can see and update your details in your customer account, or email or call me to get a copy of your information, correct it, or ask for it to be deleted. You can ask me to stop review requests or other non-essential emails at any time.

Children

This website and the business’s services are for adults arranging work on their property. I don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
