Roof Soft Wash
Those black streaks running down a shingle roof are algae. The fix is a soft wash: a cleaning solution applied at low pressure that kills the algae, not a high-pressure blast.
Roofs are never pressure-washed here. High pressure strips the protective granules off shingles and can shorten the life of the roof.
Price
Homes between these sizes are priced on a smooth scale in the online estimate. Starting prices — the final price is confirmed once I see the property.
What’s included
- Look over the roof and the plants and surfaces below it
- Plants and lawn under the drip line pre-wet, and rinsed again afterward
- Low-pressure soft wash of the roof surface
- Thorough rinse of the surfaces below
Good to know
- Roofs get soft washing only — no pressure washing, ever.
- Some stains (like deep rust or mineral stains) may only partly lift and can need a separate treatment.
- Roofs usually need washing every 3–5 years — sooner under heavy tree cover.
- A working outdoor water spigot with a hose connection is required — I don’t haul a water tank.
Questions
Will washing damage my roof?
Not with this method. Roofs get a low-pressure soft wash with the right solution mix — never a high-pressure blast.
What’s the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Soft washing uses low pressure and a cleaning solution to kill algae, mildew and mold on siding and roofs. Pressure washing uses high pressure and is only used on surfaces that can take it, like concrete.
What if it rains on my day?
